Spring Conference
Each year, Ohio Association for Play Therapy has a 2 day Spring Conference in April.
All are welcome to attend. Ohio Association for Play Therapy members receive a discounted rate for the conference.
At the Spring Conference, there is an open board meeting so members can hear about board positions, upcoming changes, and communicate questions and interests.
The Spring Conference is also the time when we honor an outstanding Play Therapist with an award. This individual can be nominated by any of our Ohio APT members!

Navigating High Conflict Divorce Cases in Play Therapy
"Navigating High-Conflict Divorce in Play Therapy" is a two-day continuing education course designed for play therapists and mental health professionals. The course provides insights, techniques, and interventions for effectively supporting children experiencing high-conflict divorce and manage effective parent interactions in the context of play therapy. Participants will explore strategies for ethical decision-making, maintaining therapeutic boundaries, and utilizing play therapy modalities that prioritize the child’s emotional safety. By the end of the course, attendees will be equipped with tools to manage complex family dynamics and foster resilience in young clients navigating these challenging transitions.
This training will offer 6 hours of training on the special topic of navigating high conflict divorce cases in play therapy and 6 hours of play therapy skills and methods with children of divorce. Training will be provided with a combination of visual presentations, lecture, break out groups and experiential, fun activities.
